About

When I first heard about Lumix’s straight-out-of-camera workflow, I immediately became curious and eventually bought a Lumix S9.

But once I started looking for authentic film-inspired straight-out-of-camera aesthetics to document my kids as they grow up, I realized that the official Lumix content offered little guidance on how to recreate iconic film looks like Fujifilm Superia or Kodak Portra with a Lumix camera. So I started looking elsewhere — only to quickly discover how technical and overwhelming the whole LUT ecosystem actually is, and how difficult it is to find high-quality, credible film recipes that consistently produce beautiful, reliable results.

That’s why I started grainyweekly.com.

To make high-quality, iconic film-inspired SOOC looks for Lumix cameras accessible and easy to use — and, over time, tested, refined, and trusted by the community.

That’s why it is also intended to be a space for exchange: everyone is welcome to explore these film recipes openly, test them in real-world situations, and share thoughtful, constructive feedback.

And if you feel like it, you’re also invited to share a glimpse of your meaningful moments along the way — your everyday life, your memories, your perspective — captured through your Lumix camera and a grainyweekly film recipe in the community gallery.

I hope this becomes a place for inspiration, exchange, and a shared visual language around film-inspired everyday photography with Lumix SOOC.
